Denbaya Community Dance Classes
Denbaya dance classes are exuberant expressions of the grace and power of Guinean art and culture.  Each class combes the energy of a live performance with the expert technical instruction of Denbaya teachers and guest artists. Beginning through advanced-professional dancers learn traditional and ballet arrangements to various West African rhythms with great attention paid to the nuances that make West African dance one of the world's premier art forms. Denbaya offers two levels of regular dance classes in Ashland, Oregon.  Denbaya’s courses are taught by local dancers and by special guest artists in residency. The dance programs are organized in five-week increments for maximum flexibility, student retention, and student budgets.

On a regular basis, Denbaya sponsors special guest artists to teach both beginning and advanced dancers. Past guest artists have included Mouminatou Camara from Les Ballets Africains (right), Moustapha Bangoura from Les Ballets Africains, Nene Soumah and Aboubacar "Lopez" Soumah both from National Ballet Djoliba, Abdoulaye Camara, and Naby Bangoura.
